Through her Institute for Archetypal and Cross-Cultural studies, Dr. Estés Réyes leads several residential trainings for mid-career professionals and other interested persons each year at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado.
Open to men and women of heart, the mission of our trainings is to hold the door open to new life in the undivided interior world. To uphold love, creativity, and the interior work needed to transform oneself. We do this through teaching the mediating of negative complexes and removing introjects (false ideas implanted in the psyche via childhood trauma, generational wounds, relational challenges, and overcultural harshness)

This training focuses on the teachings and exploration of the rootstock of the Archetype of The Great Mother.
Her Profound Cycles show how we can learn her clear patterns and live within her vivid creative cycles for best understandings of El destino, our own destinies, and the true meanings in and of our lives—not by ego’s sight, but by the Soul’s sight. The keyword regarding the Great Mother archetype is wholeness.
The purpose is that we remain mindful of, strengthening as needed, adding to, trimming, taking away from or demanding as needed, holding to wholeness of life daily, all in true self.
OVERVIEW
Inside each of us is a natural-set of archetypal patterns …but in human proportion… the instructions to live out these large numinous cycles came with us when we were born.
These cycles from a greater archetypal nature, as they become clearer to us by in depth study in both worlds, offer us specific details on how to proceed in life, and how to maintain True Self. We learn how to follow one’s deepest callings in life that appear to come from a realm including but also beyond this earthly realm… ways of living life that are satisfying and nourishing in ways that ego direction alone is not.
In this training, these often beautiful and ornate cycles at each stage of our lives are revealed as one-of-a-kind ways for each soul. They are customized according to your own unique situations…and if followed, lead to a Path of Heart, just waiting to unfold, ready to be understood in depth through your own contact with the archetypal… and followed by your say-so, in an informed way via what Dr. Estés Réyes calls the 5 star self: Immaculate Heart, Radiant Soul, River Mind, Child Spirit and precious consort: Body.
The Great Mother Archetype contains ways of life we live out, often unconsciously --but as we learn her ways, eventually we live closer to her cycles fully aware-- including her aspects of timely destruction, incubation, perpetual love, sexuality in depth, fierce protectiveness, laboring births, slides into entropy, deaths of more than one kind, prayers for new conceptions, and then our ever bursting again into resurrection: New Life.
We will explore how we can fasten ourselves into the integrity of Great Mother Archetype, through Dr. Estés’ time-tested questionnaires, unraveling night dream interactions in real time, and trance immersion work. You will fill out a map with the cycles of Great Mother and how you are living those out currently [or will soon], how you have done so in the past, and how one plans to live out certain aspects of Greater imbedded into our lives, in the future.
The archetypal realm is an ancient idea, old beyond time, first referenced in existing writing [as thus far discovered in our time] by Plato and Aristotle, and also as old, in hieroglyphs attributed to Chac Mool [El Maestro of Rain and all Nature] and Tezcatlipoca of the Nahua people [Aztec/ Mexica] to mean the greater Wonder, or presiding Force.
Tezcatlipoca is also known as The Smoking Mirror of Creation who can show us one side of our archetypal nature one day, and ten other aspects of our nature through the archetypal sense, another day. In Slavic and far Eastern Europe, there is what Dr. Estés Réyes calls the balabusta, that is Baba Yaga who represents also the Great Mother of Nature, as well as in ancient mythos, there is the Great Mother Coatlique and other figures.
In this training we will investigate other forces, rarely referenced figures, in order to bring us closer to the many layers of the Great Mother archetype. We will see how we are beholden to her, erupting as creatives, whirled into the mysteries because of her many layers of existence and influence that are in us already. All these and more, to bring us closer to the Great Mother archetype, and the life-death-birth cycle of life.
The Cycles held within the Great Mother Archetype are often hidden, but exquisitely enhancing of our lives, once we know about each of her cycles --and when and how to utilize the archetype’s ways and means [in our own human ways] to better be in synch with our lives and the world-- with best freedom and best timing.
